Global AC DC Input Power
PowergridM’s Unique Global Power-Of-Choice Capability Allows for Power Operations From Any Power Source, Anywhere in the World
The PowergridM Global Power capability is based on our proprietary Auto-Sensing / Auto-Switching technology allowing a PowergridM UPS to derive power from either an AC or DC source and can be connected to both sources at the same time allowing it to select the power source based on real-time availability.
The Best Solution for Harsh Environments and Military Applications.
PowergridM’s input power capability allows our UPS units to accept a wide variety of AC voltage waveforms from 100-264VAC 47-63Hz and 390-410Hz (for operation with US Army 400Hz generators) and accept from 22-32VDC allowing it to be powered by military vehicles.
This wide voltage range allow PowergridM to be powered by nearly any source anywhere is the world and provides a highly unique Power-Of-Choice capability to derive power from shore power, generators, or vehicles depending on availability or operational need. For vehicle based applications on the go, this Power-Of-Choice capability allows operators to select the appropriate power source based on operational circumstances for On-The-Move (vehicle based alternators), On-The-Pause (vehicle alternators or on-board generator) , and On-The-Stop activities (or shore power).
The PowergridM Auto-Sensing / Auto-Switching circuits support the connection to both AC and DC power services at the same time. If AC input power is applied, the UPS will select and utilize it if it is within the stated tolerance levels. If AC input power fails or is removed, the UPS will auto-sense the AC failure and auto-switch to the DC source if attached. The unit will alarm and send the operator an SNMP message via the network connection informing the user of the input power change status. The attached user equipment will see no change in power services in that the switching time is less than 20msec. If AC input power is re-applied, the UPS will sense it’s return and automatically switch back to AC, again issuing an SNMP status message to the operator. This capability provides a high level of power resiliency in field applications allowing PowergridM to provide the needed power to the user equipment without regard to changes in the operational environment.
The ability to accept a broad range of AC DC input voltages and frequencies, as well as ruggedized construction, make the PowergridM AC DC Input Power an ideal choice for military applications.
